AMC Cinema, Birmingham, Screen 7 Tormented is an irreverent high school horror, a witty and shocking story of a bullied, asthmatic teenager who returns from the dead to take revenge on his teenage tormentors. The film stars a talented and exciting young cast including Alex Pettyfer (Stormbreaker), April Pearson (Skins), Larissa Wilson (Skins), Olly Alexander (Enter The Void, Bright Star), Mary Nighy (Marie Antoinette, ‘Spooks’), Georgia King (The Duchess), Tom Hopper (Saxon, ‘Casualty’), Calvin Dean (The Duchess, Mixed Up), Dimitri Leonidas (‘Grange Hill’, ‘Casualty’), and newcomer Tuppence Middleton. Tormented is the debut feature film from director Jon Wright and writer Stephen Prentice.

The Courtyard, Hereford, The Studio This heart-warming tale follows a neurotic, struggling amateur film-maker who attempts to relieve his frustrated film making ambitions on a group of wheelchair users at a community school. Enlisted to teach the group about film making Jasper decides to literally depict the uphill struggles he believes his students face by filming on top of a mountain.

Odeon Coventry Set in early-80’s Coventry Clubbed follows lonely factory worker Danny (Mel Raido) as he struggles to deal with his hard-knock life and failed marriage. An attack in front of his children leaves Danny depressed, humiliated and left to choose whether to sink further into his depression or fight back. Danny decides to take action and lands a position as a bouncer which quickly transforms his life. All is not as it seems however, and Danny soon finds himself drawn into a new world filled with gangs and violence. Unknown to Danny a chain of events has begun that will have shockingly brutal consequences.

The Drum, Birmingham, Main Auditorium Almost Adult follows the stories of two unaccompanied child asylum seekers on their journey to remain in Britain together. The two girls are from different countries and speak different languages, but form an amazing bond through their shared need of family support, and a history of abuse. Aged 17, Mamie (Victoire Milandu) arrives in the UK with no passport or documentation, unaware of the whereabouts of her family, and having been abused by traffickers. Although almost an adult, she is legally viewed as a child, so is granted a temporary right to remain in Britain, but is given none of the protection that this status should provide. Mamie is moved to Birmingham where she meets the younger Shiku (Ann Warungu) from Kenya, who she adopts as her younger sister.

AMC Cinema, Birmingham, Screen 7 Faintheart is a romantic comedy set in the world of Viking battle re-enactors. The lead character Richard is a lovable but not so bright young man whose obsession with Viking history and his weekly visits to the local park to enact battles with his friends put his domestic life in jeopardy. His son Martin disowns him and his wife leaves him for Martin's PE teacher. It is then down to Richard to get his family back with the help of his geeky mates.

Stratford-upon-Avon Picture House The Mandrake Root, dubbed 'the Renaissance comedy of 1518', is adapted from the play by Niccolo Machiavelli. When Callimaco returns from France he falls desperately in love with married Lucrezia. Revolving around fraud, love triangles, mandrake root potion and comedy, the film follows Callimaco and his scheming friend, Ligurio as they plot to win Lucrezia.

The Electric Cinema, Birmingham, Screen 2 When two families decide to spend Christmas on holiday together they don’t realise the horrifying turn their festivities will take. One by one the younger children fall mysteriously ill and begin displaying some alarming and sinister behaviour. The celebration quickly turns into a fight for survival as the children begin to turn on their parents in a series of brutal and psychotic attacks.

Lighthouse, Wolverhampton, Main Auditorium Labelled Britain’s first Hip Hop musical, 1 DAY boasts original music performed by the cast. The film mixes hip hop and grime tracks with gospel, reggae and spirituals providing a realistic, vibrant soundtrack to the story. Filmed entirely on location on the inner-city streets of Birmingham, the film has utilised local talent both in front of and behind the camera, further enhancing the authenticity of the film. The film plunges you right into the heart of life on the streets as it follows 24 hours in the life of a young street hustler - Flash. Flash wakes up to a phone call from Angel announcing that he’s being released from prison and wants the £500k he’d left with Flash for safekeeping. Short of the full amount and pushed for time, Flash is forced to strike a deal with Evil (Duncan) who more than lives up to his name. 1 DAY follows Flash’s race against the clock as he’s pursued by a rival gang, the police, his three irate baby mothers and his granny."

Electric Cinema, Birmingham, Screen 2 When four British Muslim friends set off from their home in Tipton to attend a wedding in Pakistan they can’t imagine the terrible consequences of their decision. ‘Road to Guantanamo follows the three year struggles of Ruhal Ahmed, Asif Iqbal, Shafiq Rasul and Monir after being captured by the US Military and imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay accused of being terrorists. Their journey is documented using a combination of interviews, archive footage and dramatic recreation of their shocking story.

Shrewsbury Old Market Hall, Shrewsbury After attending her boss’s house party in the country, sophisticated middle-class Alice (Gillian Anderson) and her twenty-three year old boyfriend Adam (Danny Dyer) find themselves brutally attacked on their way home. After a chance meeting with one of her assailant a month later the traumatised pair decides to plot the perfect murder of their attackers, but find themselves conflicted about carrying out their plans.

AMC Cinema, Birmingham, Screen 7 ‘Confetti’ is a hilarious mockumentary which follows three couples as they fight it out to win bridal magazine Confetti’s title of Most Original Wedding of the Year and a £500,000 house. With an entirely improvised script this affectionate comedy brings together an impressive comedy cast. Jessica Stevenson and Martin Freeman stage a Musical Wedding, Meredith MacNeil and Stephen Mangan serve up a Tennis Wedding whilst Olivia Colman and Robert Webb go for a Naturist Wedding.

‘Nativity’ follows primary school teacher Paul (Martin Freeman) who attempts to stage his school’s musical version of the Nativity. In his efforts to outshine the rival posh school Paul boasts that his ex-girlfriend, a Hollywood Producer (Ashley Jenson) will come and watch the show with a view to turning it into a film. Madness ensues with quarrelling parents, over-excited children, an eccentric assistant and an ex-girlfriend who Paul hasn’t spoken to in years. In order to avoid catastrophe and ensure everyone’s Christmas wishes come true Paul must now get back in contact with Jennifer and lure Hollywood to town.
